Environmental respect

It is made of an extract obtained with environmentally friendly methods  and with ecological and natural materials. In addition, it presents a high content of natural essential oils, minimizing the exposure of animals to synthetic external agents.

Antibacterial activity

It is a family of products essential to guarantee the biosecurity of the livestock farms, so the risk of contagious diseases is reduced, avoiding its diffusion among the rest of the animals.

It has proved antibacterial action against several microorganisms such as Escherichia coli (E. coli), Bacillus spp and Staphylococcus aureus, among others. These bacterias are the main causes of mastitis and diarrhoea in different species.

Antioxidant activity

Phytogrape is a family of products with polyphenols as components. The reactivity of the phenol group gives the products antioxidant activity. This means that these products have the ability to trap free radicals. Free radicals are generated naturally by animals, and they are harmful to them. Polyphenols are also able  to inhibit the generation of more free radicals due to the chelating activity they present. In this way, they join to metals, preventing the generation of more free radicals, and consequently of diseases.

PHYTOGRAPE COMPOSITION

The extract is basically composed of a high concentration of polyphenolic compounds and natural ingredients.

The range of concentration of each of the ingredients (of the I.A.T.) in the product, its CAS number and a parameter indicating the total polyphenol content of the extract are detailed in the table on the right.

WHY DO WE INCLUDE POLYPHENOLS?

  • From the most basic chemical structures to the most complex, all polyphenols have a range of bio-physical-chemical properties that make them unique natural products.
  • We can think … why do plants work so hard to produce this whole battery of diverse and complex substances? Because polyphenols in plants have many different jobs:
  • Resistance against pathogenic microorganisms and herbivorous animals -like insects
  • They protect against solar radiation (screens against damage of UV light to DNA) and high temperatures
  • As alkaloids and terpenoids, polyphenols  belongs to the large chemical arsenal formed by plant metabolites that allow them to adapt to variable and stressful environmental conditions, they are evolutionarily protected and contribute chemically to the ecological balance between plants and other living organisms, including the humans.
